You and the Job:

You are a proactive, fast-moving, and amiable communicator who thrives by understanding clients and creatively putting a project together that will change their lives. You love transforming peoples homes and improving their lives.

You’ll be selling the initial engagement with clients and leading a team that will design, price and sell residential remodeling projects that range in cost from $20,000-$2,000,000.

Why do this:

As a Design Consultant you’ll be working with one of the leading Design/Build Remodeling companies in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll be able to thrive in a system designed for everyone to enjoy being the best at what they are good at.

If you’re young and developing your career you’ll be able to take a background in remodeling and turn it into a very rewarding career where you see people’s lives changed.

If you’re a seasoned professional you’ll be able to harness your knowledge to educate clients and experience to lead a team of designers and project managers to create some amazing remodeling projects.

The Job and Your Responsibilities:

Being a Design Consultant at Lamont Bros. may be the most rewarding sales job you’ve ever had:

  • Be seen as a trusted advisor. Very different from the arm-twisting tactics of some home-improvement firms your job is to educate your clients, advise them on what’s best for them and win big when they win big.
  • Crush it without crushing yourself. We generally expect 40-50 hours a week, but we empower you to set your own schedule and work mostly M-F if you like.
  • No cold-calling. You will serve clients who contact Lamont Bros for projects or warm leads from referrals or Lamont Bros. website.
  • Handoff to production. This is not a project management role. You work with a Project Manager and a Remodeling Superintendent who take ownership of building the project.
  • You are a real employee with real benefits. This is NOT a 1099 position.

Ideal Experience:

  • You are going to be most successful if you have experience in residential remodeling. This could be on the remodeling production side in project management or carpentry or on the design side doing interior design, cabinet design or architectural design.
  • Interior decorating doesn't count as remodeling experience for what we do.

What exactly will I be doing?

  • Oversee the client experience from start to finish
  • Impress initial leads on a 1:1 video call by how you care about them, understand them and can help them achieve their goals.
  • Perform on-site client consultation to gather information and show nurture them along in the sales process.
  • Develop, manage, and update the project budget utilizing Lamont Bros. budgeting tools.
  • Assist client with design concepts and product selections
  • Close design & construction contracts
  • Manage remodel design process
  • Coordinate design staff, project managers, and external consultants

Pay and Benefits

  • $60,000 - $200,000 ($60,000 Annual Salary + Commission)
  • Health Coverage
  • Company Vehicle
  • 401K with Employer Match
  • Flexible Work-From-Home Policy [This is not a 100% remote position]
  • 4 Weeks of PTO
  • Flexible Spending Account

Ideal Candidate:

  • Exceptional communication and relational skills.
  • Ability to lead, guide and direct clients and teams.
  • Critical path planning skills to get large projects through the design process.
  • Has experience in residential remodeling or in-home sales. This is not an ideal job for someone right out of school or with no professional remodeling experience.
  • General understanding of interior design, building code, structural features, and architecture.
  • Is very comfortable with technology. (CRM, Project Management Software, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Notion, etc.)
  • Strong sense of ambition, self-motivation and self-discipline
